These photos are from a three-part business branding series I did for Varsity Bike & Transit located in Dinkytown. We did photos of the shop & staff, a set of action photos of bikers on the Stone Arch Bridge, and photos of the staff wearing their t-shirts. The photos were done for a website refresh and marketing campaign the shop was doing. It was fun to work with them and see what life is like in a bike shop! The textures and colors were so fun to photograph. I’m lucky that my job takes me inside so many great places!

Next time you’re in the market for a bicycle or in need of a tune-up or repair be sure to check them out!

These days, headshots are such a subjective thing. There are so many different ways to have them done – you have to figure out what style will represent you and your business the best. In many cases, headshots can become more of a business branding session. This is especially true for people in the health, beauty, and creative industries.

In today’s competitive market place what is the one thing that your business has that nobody else does? YOU! The look and feel you present on your website and social media is so important in portraying the correct message to current and potential clients. I can’t tell you how many times I go to a website and the “about” section is devoid of personality, and many times does not even have a photo. When I am looking at potential people and companies to do business with, I like to know the people I am supporting. Often times a good “about” section on a website can sell me on a product or service I didn’t even know I needed. I think people generally like to support people they can relate to or someone who they can see themselves in. If your website doesn’t reflect you and your personality, it is an easy fix! In fact, I know mine could use some work. Off to schedule a headshot session for myself now…

I’m happy to share these recent headshots I did for my friend and stylist, Sara Klimek! She is a talented lady who is a mover and shaker in her industry. You can find her at Salon 10 in Blaine. She is great with fashion colors (isn’t her hair amazing!), but also works magic with those of us who aren’t as brave and don’t get too crazy with their hair. We had a great time doing these photos. Enjoy!

I have availability for special branding/headshot sessions in a similar style to the photos above in Downtown Minneapolis on April 15. Contact me to get on the schedule!  If that date doesn’t work for you, or are looking for a different style of headshot, I am flexible in scheduling additional/dates times as well!

  • Tracey Dutcher - Hey Katie! Perfect timing. I do need a professional headshot! And I was just talking to a colleague about your services, including headshots, and told her I’d get an estimate. Neither of us had a website, but we are both trying to subtly brand and promote ourselves.

It will be fun to work with you again!

My nephew Brandon turns three today! It’s hard to believe how quickly those three years went by. It seems like yesterday I was taking his newborn photos. They are on their spring break so they came from Madison, WI to stay with Aunt Katie for the week! We had a great time hanging out, going to the Mall of America (and I’m now regretting not buying the photo from the log ride!), going swimming, and of course getting photos taken! We had time to sneak in a 15 minute photo session at a park in Shoreview. It can be tricky to find good photo locations this time of year since the snow is gone but the leaves aren’t out yet, but I kind of like the neutral backdrop the forest provides before the green of spring appears. Enjoy some of the photos from Brandon’s three year photo shoot which also feature big sister Melanie (see her three year photos here)!
